At tonight’s Wappinger Central School District BOE meeting, the nonprofit James’s Warr;ors received the NYS School Board Association’s  Champions of Change Award for their work in changing the way mental health is perceived, and  ultimately working to prevent suicide. Founder Donna Thomas thanked NYSSBA for “recognizing the impact of community and school collaboration in supporting youth mental health,” and the District for its unwavering support. This recognition means so much to our organization as we continue our mission to raise awareness around mental health and suicide prevention. Collaborating with WCSD has been both powerful and inspiring, and we are truly grateful for the opportunity to make a difference together.
